Presidency Warns Public Against Fraudsters Soliciting Money for RDC Appointments
Minister Milly Babalanda has warned the public against fraudsters demanding money for RDC, Deputy RDC, and Assistant RDC appointments, urging citizens to rely only on official channels and report suspicious activity.

The Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, has issued a stern warning to the public about fraudulent individuals soliciting money in exchange for alleged appointments as Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), Deputy RDCs, and Assistant RDCs.

In a notice released by the Office of the President, Minister Babalanda revealed that the office has received reports of unscrupulous actors extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public under the false promise of securing government positions.

“The Office of the President has been alerted that some unscrupulous individuals are fraudulently soliciting money from the public under the guise of securing appointments as Resident District Commissioners, Deputy Resident District Commissioners, and Assistant Resident District Commissioners,” the statement reads.

Minister Babalanda dismissed these claims as false and malicious, noting they aim to tarnish the reputation of the Office of the President.

She clarified that all appointments to RDC positions are conducted strictly through established government procedures, and official communication regarding such appointments comes only via authorized government channels.

The Minister cautioned citizens against paying any money to individuals claiming to influence or facilitate the appointment process.

“No person should be duped to part with money for such appointments,” she stressed.

Members of the public have been urged to disregard such fraudulent solicitations and to report any related incidents to the nearest police station.

The Office of the President reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and integrity in public service appointments and called on citizens to remain vigilant against fraudsters.
